The latest Helldivers 2 Escalation of Freedom update has been met with a negative response from players. However, there is still a Galactic War to fight and things are getting serious as the Automatons are getting uncomfortably close to Super Earth. Following the robot supply lines being split in two in the Andromeda Sector, the Automatons have worked their way down towards Super Earth instead, bringing the greatest threat to our home planet that we’ve seen since Helldivers 2 launched.

The Helldivers 2 Community Manager Baskinator took to Discord to announce the latest Major Order saying,
“While our attention has been diverted by the Gloom, the Automatons have crept closer to Super Earth. We will not tolerate the menacing of any Super Earth citizens, but especially not high-classification citizens in the Developed Worlds, whose commitment to Managed Democracy has been proved beyond doubt. The Helldivers will launch an assault on the Automatons to push them away from Super Earth. Those who submitted counterfeit samples in a recent Order have been reassigned to Chemical Weapon facilities, where they will be given the opportunity to repay their debt to Freedom with strenuous labor.
Intel indicates that additional Automaton attacks are expected within the next few days.”
Right now, the Automatons are just one Sector away from reaching Super-Earth, the closest that either Faction has gotten so far during the Galactic War. With the “Let Super Earth burn” campaign going on with a small subset of players on the Helldivers 2 social media pages, it does beg the question, what happens if the robots manage to reach Super Earth?
Although it is interesting to think about, I don’t believe that we have to worry about it right now, as the Major Order tasks, which include liberating Curia and defending three planets, are coming along nicely as players are determined to push back the Automaton forces. Despite Helldivers 2 being in a bad state right now, players are still determined to keep playing and many are enjoying the recent Escalation of Freedom update and Freedom’s Flame Warbond.
