Capcom has offered up new details and a new trailer for upcoming Phoenix Wright spin-off The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles ahead of its release next month during its E3 Showcase last night.
The game will include two new features to the Ace Attorney series: the Dance of Deduction and the Summation Examination. The former will see Herlock Sholmes present his initial theory of what’s happened at a given crime scene.
As hero Ryunosuke, you’ll then discuss with legal aid Susato and Sholmes to find the flaws in his reasoning, and hunt down clues to correct him. A semi-metaphorical dance will take place between Sholmes and Ryunosuke as he adjusts his deduction with the new information and you come to the real conclusion and solve the case.
Meanwhile the Summation Examination stage takes place in the Courtroom. You’ll go up against six jurors, who’ll you have to convince of your clients’ innocence. As you go head-to-head, they’ll explain their guilty verdict, and it’ll be up to you to point out the contradictions in their statement. Do so successfully, and you’ll sway the Scales of Justice to a Not Guilty verdict.
The spin-off was first announced back in April and marks the first time the spin-off series has launched in the West. You can check out the The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles trailer for yourself below. The game launches on July 27 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC.
