The First Descendant is set to receive a big update on May 22nd. Update 1.2.18 is set to introduce lots of new content including a VIB boss named Icemaden, a new Party Finder system, and the ability to peek at the loadouts of other players. In addition, Nexon has previously revealed that May will see the addition of “jiggle physics”. This should be part of update 1.2.18, and Nexon’s new skin preview for The First Descendant shows the feature in “motion”.
New The First Descendant skin preview shows “jiggle physics”
Nexon first revealed plans for “jiggle physics” back in November 2024. Since then, the developer announced that it will be joining the game in May, and it appears to be on the cusp of being added in update 1.2.18.
Now the developer has shared a preview of a new skin coming out in the patch. The skin is called Glided Death Blossom, and it’s showcased with Freyna. The preview shows the emote of Freyna bouncing on a ball within the letters Glided.
It’s difficult to see the video because of the artistic presentation, but it shows off body motion for Freyna while performing the emote as well as being rotated in the character preview.
In the replies, there’s a mixed bag of reaction from fans. There are a lot more fans pleased that the feature is finally getting added, as it’s been sorely anticipated by many ever since plans for body physics were first discussed.
However, there are a few who would rather Nexon focus on other areas first. One of the comments points out that the PS5 sound bug still hasn’t been fixed, but the good news is that Nexon has confirmed it is getting fixed in update 1.2.18.
Another comment asks for actual content, but Nexon are delivering in this aspect with patch 1.2.18, too. Not to mention, Season 3 is scheduled for June, and there’s a lot to anticipate such as Nell as a new playable character, a hoverbike, and a crossover with Nier.
