Season 2 of The First Descendant is only a couple of weeks away, and it will introduce a lot of fantastic new content to the game. However, while S2 is looking great, Nexon has plans far beyond just the second chapter of TFD. Some of Nexon’s plans have been discussed with the community on socials, and the developer has shared when the highly-requested photo mode might arrive in The First Descendant.
The release date for Season 2 is December 5th, but, before its arrival, Nexon has begun a new event with three exclusive rewards for players to unlock. In addition, the developer’s latest code is still available for players to redeem in honor of Nexon’s 30th anniversary.
While we cannot wait for S2 to arrive, we’re even more stoked for what Nexon has planned for The First Descendant in 2025. One of these plans includes the addition of photo mode, and it is a feature the community have highly-requested since day one of the game’s launch.
When photo mode might be added to The First Descendant
Earlier this month, Nexon started a QnA channel on The First Descendant’s official Discord. This has allowed players to tell the game’s director and producer what they want to see implemented in the game.
It’s through these back-and-forth discussions that Nexon revealed they are planning to add “jiggle physics,” but they have also revealed that they are looking to add photo mode. The ability to capture photos in-game has been requested by many, but it will not be arriving in Season 2.
In response to a query asking when photo mode will debut in The First Descendant, TFD_PD_Lee said, “Maybe Season 3”. This doesn’t guarantee that it will definitely will arrive in the game’s third chapter, but at least we know when Nexon is aiming for.
Photo mode is a massively popular feature present in numerous other video games. It was just recently added to Stellar Blade, and players absolutely love being able to create stylish and stunning photographs in-game. When it comes to TFD, hopefully Nexon does implement features such as editing tools and being able to change the poses/facial expressions of characters.
Aside from photo mode, in the future Nexon is also planning to add more matchmaking options to help players avoid repeat AFK offenders. The Korean developer will also expand upon Season 2’s best feature, and collaborations with other IPs are officially “under review”.
