The First Descendant has been a lot of fun since launch, and right now we are in the early stages of Season 1. This has brought about the introduction of newcomer, Hailey Scott, and eventually it will introduce Ultimate Freyna come October. While the arrival of Ultimate Freyna is well known, The First Descendant producer has recently shared exciting unannounced plans for Season 1 and beyond.
There is a lot to anticipate for TFD. Nexon has recently shared the patch notes for 1.1.1, and fans have praised an amazing change that has come with the significant nerfing of Invasion Dungeons. While not everyone is a fan of the nerfs to Invasion Dungeons, everyone is unanimously anticipating the multiplayer mode update Nexon has promised is on the way.
Nexon’s multiplayer mode update will hopefully arrive soon, but there’s much more to anticipate for Season 1 and beyond as shared by The First Descendant producer.
The First Descendant plans for Season 1 and beyond
The First Descendant producer, Beom-Jun Lee, recently held a lecture in Korea. The lecture can be found on dcinside, and a general summary and translation comes courtesy of Reddit user, TorchNine.
A lot of the lecture discussed the reception to the game immediately upon launch, and how the developers are reacting to player feedback. For fans, Lee discussed plans for Season 1 and beyond.
On one of the slides, there was text saying, “We’re going to deliver the content that players expect and want. We’re also planning to create and provide a wider variety of character skins. Not only that, but we’ll support linked account management and nickname changes through the website within Season 1”.
The ability to change your nickname will be massively welcomed when it arrives. There are ways to change your name already, but this requires completely resetting your account which is something nobody wants.
In addition to the ability to change your nickname at some point in Season 1, Lee teased a new mode for sometime in the future. During the presentation, he mentioned Nexon are considering bringing back the idea of “conceived content where an endless stream of enemies would pour out”.
Lastly, Lee said they will not abandon The First Descendant, and that the team is planning to adjust the future direction of the game to “quickly introduce content centered on feedback, aiming to boost satisfaction”.
