Embark Studios’ The Finals is home to various class-exclusive skills that make its destructive shoot-’em-up gameplay even more exciting than your typical FPS experience. However, one notoriously overpowered ability continues to stand out among the rest due to the unfair advantage that it gives certain players: Recon Senses.

Despite The Finals 1.5 patch notes being generally greeted with praise from the game’s community, the popular limited-time game mode and much-needed changes it’s brought continue to be overshadowed by constant player complaints. This especially rings true on The Finals subreddit, where numerous fans have already created posts pleading with Embark Studios to either nerf or remove Recon Senses from the game altogether.

In fact, Reddit threads blasting the Medium class’s Recon Senses skill have become so commonplace that one player had their post deleted by moderators to reduce the number of repetitive posts. Nevertheless, the thread still garnered plenty of attention from the disgruntled community, as a commenter said: “I’m so f*cking tired of games adding wall hack abilities. No one enjoys them, and they’re flat-out lame.”

On the other hand, others proposed ways to make this broken skill less powerful, as one player suggested: “The player using [Recon Senses] should absolutely be visible too. The range should also be limited, like with thermal vision. Both these [changes] feel like obvious things.” Unfortunately, it remains unclear whether Embark Studios plans on nerfing or removing Recon Senses from the game, as it has yet to comment on the constant barrage of criticisms from frustrated fans.

It’s also worth noting that an update focused on fixing this broken skill may not be coming soon since the developers only recently released The Finals update 1.5.0. With this in mind, all the community can do now is remain patient until Embark Studios eventually decides to provide a patch that finally addresses the Medium class’s reign of terror in matches.
