The Finals Season 5 is celebrating another important occasion. It first celebrated Christmas, then it marked the coming of the new year, and now Season 5 is joining every other multiplayer game in celebrating Lunar New Year. Following some changes to Cashout and Quick Cash in update 5.6.0, Embark has released a new event for The Finals to celebrate Lunar New Year, and this brings some big gameplay and visual changes to maps.

The Finals Lunar New Year event

Embark has started a new event in The Finals to celebrate Lunar New Year. This event is called Light The Way, and it introduces a pretty big gameplay change.

Per Oscar on the game’s official Discord, “This week Healing Barrels can be found scattered around The Arenas”. What you can do with these Healing Barrels is throw them at allies to improve their health. You can also throw them at foes if you so wish. Throwing these Healing Barrels will also leave behind a healing mist.

In addition to the introduction of Healing Barrels, the Light The Way event has decorated four maps with appropriate décor to celebrate Lunar New Year:

  • Seoul
  • Fortunate Stadium
  • Las Vegas
  • Monoco

Lastly, as if the Light The Way event wasn’t enough, Embark has released a new snake charmer set because it’s the year of the snake. This set includes a gorgeous new gun skin along with a snazzy jacket.
