With every weekly update to The Finals comes a rotation to the in-game store. This adds a slew of new items for fans to acquire from weapon skins to cosmetics and emotes. While rotation to the store is always appreciated, some The Finals fans are sad Embark “ruined” a new emote thanks to a big change from the same emote available in the beta.

You can check out the update 3.8.0 patch notes to see the latest massive changes from Embark. More changes have been made to World Tour, and there is also the addition of the long-awaited Emerald Rank. Unfortunately, there are no weapon balance changes, nor are there are any buffs to Heavy and Medium. In addition, a new community event Legendary skin reward has leaked, but the community event has not begun as of yet. ‘

While fans were disappointed with the lack of balance changes to weapons and classes in yesterday’s update, some fans are also disappointed by a new emote added to The Finals store.

The Finals emote change disappoints fans

In The Finals 3.8.0, we got an update to the store that added some beach-themed summer items. The best addition was the flamethrower soak ‘n’ scorch skin that resembles a water gun, and the only thing that would’ve made it better was if it actually scorched enemies with water instead of fire.

Other items were added including Lewis Gun animations, but possibly the most controversial is the new emote that includes kicking a beach ball. On the game’s subreddit, OP jag_the_sexy_cactus bemoans Embark for ruining the emote thanks to a significant change from the beta.

As per the OP, “in the betas the beach ball used to be Namatama and you caught him he made a noise and you kicked him but they replaced Namatama and now I’m sad”. For those not in the know, Nama Tama is the game’s egg-shaped mascot.

In the replies to the OP’s post, there are comments such as, “I NEED MY NAMA TAMA SQUEAKS,” “I need the namatama one back!,” and “The namatama one was my fav in the beta. It went so far when you kicked it sometimes it was hilarious”.

As pointed out by some, even though it’s the same animation but with a beach ball in place, it’s possible kicking Nama Tama could still be released sometime in the future. Hopefully it does make a comeback to the store or as part of a battle pass as it was clearly a fan-favorite.
