The Finals Season 3 has received some discontent from the community. While seasons 1 and 2 were mostly enjoyed from beginning-to-end with a few hiccups involving balancing, Season 3 has suffered from the gripe of Cashout being removed from Ranked in favor of Terminal Attack. While this is not changing, The Finals developer has at least responded to the complaints from fans.

Away from Terminal Attack and Cashout, fans have decided on another mode that is the best to play in Season 3. In addition to complaints about Terminal Attack, another major complaint amongst the community has been the meta with Light “killing the game”. Fans are anticipating another update this week, and the hope amongst the community is that there will be nerfs to Light.

While nerfs to the Light class is something that could possibly happen, as seen in Season 2, the unfortunate news is that The Finals fans shouldn’t expect any changes to improve Terminal Attack.

The Finals dev responds to Terminal Attack complaints

On The Finals’ official Discord, Embark Oscar has been engaging with the community. One user, with #RemoveTA in their display name, asked the following: “Hey, Oscar. Is there any plans to change up terminal attack at all? Even if it’s just messing with some of the restrictions placed on the mode to allow for more playstyles”.

To this, Oscar responded, “It’s not super easy making changes to a gamemode while it’s part of the ranked game, which is one of the reasons we moved cashout out of ranked this season so we can work more on it! So making large changes to TA right now might not be the best idea”.

Although some may be disappointed to hear that there will not be any changes to improve Terminal Attack, the good side of this response is that Embark is working more on Cashout. Although not explicitly stated, there is hope that Cashout will return to Ranked in the future.

In addition to the above, Oscar was asked if Embark are “feeling demotivated after the season 3 reception”. Oscar responded by saying, “Maybe the initial weekend yes! The first reactions to the S3 season was so hype, then people saw the ranked change and decided to throw everything in the season in the garbage”.

While it’s a shame that Embark feel everything good about Season 3 has been ignored because of the Terminal Attack change to Ranked, the good news is that Oscar further elaborated by saying, “But now we’re just trucking along fine, moving towards more changes to the game and working on S4!”.

Lastly, Oscar responded to some of the “feedback”. One user provided an explicit message saying, “Might not be directly to you [Oscar] but tell the people who make the final decisions to fix their f***ing game and get rid of this bulls**t TA mode. Dumb f***ing change in the first place… I wonder why y’all are losing 400k+ people in a month. Stop killing the game”.

To this Oscar responded, “It takes less words to express yourself in a way which would both be respectful and considered,” then, after receiving a response echoing the same disgruntlement, Oscar simply said, “We’ve noticed all the feedback of course, and it’s always good to receive more!”.
