The Finals dev teases their “absolute favorite weapon” will arrive in Season 4

The Finals Season 3 has less than a month remaining. So far, out of the three chapter’s since the game’s launch, S3 has been considerably disappointing for many. A lot of fans are ready for it to be over, and fortunately we don’t have too much longer left to wait for Season 4 to arrive. While Embark is remaining tight-lipped, a developer for The Finals has teased one of their “absolute favorite weapon” will arrive in Season 4.

Embark recently started a new community event as part of update 3.11.0. They were also recently at Gamescom to announce playtests for Arc Raiders, their other upcoming multiplayer game. These playtests will begin in late-October, so they give you something extra to look forward before Halloween.

While the Arc Raiders playtests are exciting, before then we will be treated to The Finals Season 4. It will bring a new map, gadgets, and guns, and a developer has teased their “favorite weapon” is part of the upcoming new content.

The Finals dev teases new Season 4 weapon

On The Finals Discord, developer Embark Rob was asked, “How many guns next season?”. Although Rob didn’t answer how many new guns will be introduced in Season 4, he did say, “one of my ABSOLUTE favorite weapon will FINALLY arrive to THE FINALS”.

Unfortunately, there’s no elaboration provided. Rob has previously disclosed that they are a Heavy main, so this could possibly be a weapon for that class. Because of Rob’s known affinity for Battlefield, fans in the Discord have guessed the M4, AN-94, and AEK-971. However, nothing has been confirmed.

In addition to teasing their “absolute favorite weapon,” Rob was asked how development is proceeding for Season 4. In response, the developer said, “Really strong, I think it’s my personal favorite TBH…”.

As for other Season 4 teases, Rob has previously said they “really want to leak” at least four tracks part of the S4 OST. He has also shown an image of facial hair as a new customization option for classes.

The release date for The Finals Season 4 is September 25th judging by the current in-game countdown. While official details are non-existent as of writing, we do know S4 will be previewed at San-Diego TwitchCon on September 20th.
