Players have found all sorts of cool things in Tears of the Kingdom – and one of the coolest is a sweet nod to Zelda’s past games like Ocarina of Time.

A number of players, such as those on the Tears of the Kingdom subreddit, noted that Link hums some familiar tunes while he’s cooking up ingredients in the game – and those tunes were quickly identified by long-time Zelda fans as other iconic tunes from across the entire series – including Saria’s Song and the Song of Time from 1997 classic Ocarina of Time.

There’s a few other songs in Link’s repertoire – including of course, the iconic Legend of Zelda theme used throughout the series, and players have also found the Hyrule Field song, Zelda’s Lullaby and Ballad of the Goddess to name but three. It’s a cute easter egg to fans and a great way to nod to some of the much-loved music that’s been a staple of the series.

Players have been spending their first weekend in Tears of the Kingdom discovering all sorts of neat tricks and nods t- such as shield surfing and the fact that you can transfer your horses from Breath of the Wild into Tears of the Kingdom. There’s also been a slew of incredible Ultrahand creations in the new game, with some even tearing around Hyrule in giant self-made mechs.

Those trends are only set to continue over the coming days, with Zelda proving immensely popular among critics as well as fans. Of course, humming a familiar tune isn’t the only reason you’ll be spending time cooking in Breath of the Wild – so if you want some expert culinary tips, check out our Tears of the Kingdom recipes list.
