How to transfer horse to Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Transferring a horse is pretty straightforward, you’ve just got to go through a few simple steps, which we detail below:

  • Make sure you’ve got a Breath of the Wild save file on your Nintendo Switch with some horses stabled. If you’re having trouble, head to your Switch’s System settings and then choose the Data Management tab, you’ll see your save game files there
  • Head to any stable in TOTK game (once you get on the ground in Hyrule) – and speak to NPC behind counter (Recommended early one is Wetland stables, east of Lookout Landing)
  • If it’s your first time at the stables, they’ll register you, and if a save file is detected, the NPC will tell you that some horses are already boarded.
  • After their spiel, talk to them and select ‘Take Horse’ from the list of options.
  • You should see your BOTW horses in the menu and you can pick which of your steeds you want to take for a spin.

The key takeaway here is make sure that you do not delete any save data from the last game. If you’re successful, you’ll be greeted by a screen like the one we have captured below.
