The Street Fighter 6 PC preload is now live on Steam and the initial space it takes up won’t KO your hard drive. Unlike Mortal Kombat 1’s absurd 100 GB download size, SF6 will only require you to free up approximately 51.58 GB, meaning you won’t have to delete any of the precious games you’ve already installed.

With the Street Fighter 6 release date now closer than ever, other consoles including the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S should soon be able to preload the game as well. Unfortunately, Capcom is yet to provide a specific date for these systems at the time of writing so you will need to remain patient for now.

With that said, the download sizes for consoles should slightly be smaller than the Windows version as this has often been the case for most PC ports. If you do want to save on more storage space for your rig, however, then you will apparently be able to opt out of downloading the World Tour and Fighting Grounds modes.

According to a Redditor named FauxCole, Fighting Grounds takes up a total of 4.32 GB while World Tour comes in at 17.96 GB. If you don’t want to experience these two game modes, then you can “uncheck” them in the DLC section of Steam so they won’t get downloaded and installed into your system. However, Street Fighter 6’s single-player World Tour mode is one of the most highly anticipated aspects of this installment so we suggest playing through it at least once before you delete it.

It’s also worth noting that this download size doesn’t include the rumored day one patch that’s set to be released on launch day. The update is reportedly going to take up between 6-10 GB bringing the entire total up to the high 50’s. Though it isn’t all that sizable, it will still take up a chunk of your storage that you otherwise might not have.

Now that you know about the Street Fighter 6 preload, we suggest checking out the game’s entire character list so you know who to practice with beforehand.
