Do you remember launching a few ghouls into space during your playthrough of Fallout New Vegas? Well, while everyone has been busy dissecting the latest Starfield gameplay one player posed the question as to whether these ghouls would make a return in Bethesda’s newest RPG.
Taking to the Starfield Reddit user shadeMan777 sent Fallout New Vegas fans’ nostalgia into overdrive as they wondered if the flying ghouls would make a return when Starfield launches. The original Fallout New Vegas quest entitled ‘Come Fly With Me,’ was actually the very first major questline designed by the Fallout New Vegas team. While the game’s director, Josh Sawyer, understood the frustration players had with the back-and-forth nature of the quest, fans still have a lot of love for this minor diversion.
One player reacted to the post by sharing their experience with the quest on their first playthrough saying, “Seriously. I remember this was the only quest that actually got an emotional reaction out of me because I was so angry seeing the cultists manipulating and taking advantage of that one guy. I gladly f**ked them over.”
Most players, at the very least, are hoping there’ll be some easter egg related to the sidequest in Starfield with one user noting, “It would be a great idea to hide somewhere in Starfield an easter egg based on this quest.” However, given the multiple-choice endings for the original sidequest with one of the options completely killing them, some players have been gleefully acknowledging their crimes. One user responded to the initial post by saying, “I sabotaged them so I expect not lol” which sparked a humourous yet simple response from another player by the name of jamester234 who said, “You monster.”
Bethesda certainly isn’t one to shy away from including easter eggs in their games with their different IPs showing up in a range of different games they’ve developed. In the meantime, while we wait for the Starfield release date we need to talk about the fact that either Starfield salami prices are astronomical, or ships are dirt cheap and that Starfield players are planning to build huge penis ships, because of course they are.
