It’s being rumoured that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s upcoming dedicated PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series X|S versions could land as soon as this week.

According to sources speaking to The Gamer, an unnamed UK video game retailer has already received physical copies of the game on PlayStation 5 and have been told an announcement and release is expected for Friday.

Though EA doesn’t officially have its own dedicated show scheduled until July, tonight sees the start of the Summer Games Fest and EA is confirmed to be in attendance. From that then, it certainly seems plausible the game could be among the first shadow drops of this showcase season.

The Xbox Series X|S isn’t mentioned in the rumour, but the original announcement did include both new-gen platforms. Details of exactly what additions these new versions feature over the previous optimisation patch are still unknown, but those who already own the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions will be eligible for a free upgrade.

EA hasn’t commented on the veracity of these rumours at the time of writing, but we probably don’t have long to find out with the Summer Games Fest Kick Off show commencing at 6pm GMT. In the meantime, why not have a gander over our Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order review right over this way?
