Anyone looking to pick up Sony’s latest VR headset when it launches this month will want to see the PSVR 2 trailer featuring the latest gameplay footage.

Now that the Meta Quest Pro has had its time in the sun, it seems that the PSVR 2’s turn is here. The trailer kicks off by showing off the console and controllers in all their glory, and then we’re shown a quick teaser of Horizon: Call of the Mountain and other games expected to launch soon too.

One of the most impressive features shown off by Sony is the Foveated Rendering, which uses eye-tracking to calculate areas in your peripheral vision and in your focus, in order to dedicate more rendering power to areas which you’re more likely to actually see. This optimizes visuals so that everything important for you to see is clear and high resolution.

The PSVR 2 makes use of eye-tracking to make this possible, and their highlight real boasts being able to aim with your eyes. Other important to note features are the Tempest 3D Audiotech, which rivals the audio solution in the Meta Quest Pro, which we’ve already compared with the PSVR 2 here.

Of course, the composite 4K display needs talking about, which is an incredibly high resolution for a VR headset, and we’re bubbling over with excitement until we can try it out.

We’re going to be keeping an eye out for the latest updates on the PSVR 2. In the meantime, you might be interested in reading about the PSVR vs PSVR 2.
