Publisher Microids has announced its physical version of Sifu, now subtitled the Vengeance Edition, will launch on May 3.

Rewards for players who decide to grab the Vengeance Edition come in the form of some extra goodies. Their patience will net them not just the game itself in a fancy steelbook, but also a 48 page artbook. They’ll also get 3 lithographs of some lovely artwork for the game, plus a digital soundtrack.

Says the blurb: “Set against a detailed backdrop of a fictional Chinese city, you will uncover an ancient mystery via a series of difficult confrontations that will test your skills to their limit! To overcome the odds that are heavily stacked against you, you’ll need to rely on your mastery of Kung Fu and on a magical pendant that will revive you after death. The cost of magic is dear, however, and you will age significantly every time you come back to life. Time is the price you will pay for your revenge.”

In fortuitous timing, developer Sloclap released a short film to tie in with the game just last night, which you can watch over here. If you can’t wait for the game in physical form, the digital release of Sifu, meanwhile, will come next week.

The Sifu Vengeance Edition, meanwhile, arrives on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on May 3. Pre-orders are available now and you can check out its trailer for yourself below.
