Publisher Microids and developer Oddworld Inhabitants have announced that 2021 action platformer Oddworld Soulstorm is coming to the Nintendo Switch.

The Switch version is getting the moniker of an ‘Oddtimized Edition’. This edition promises the same gameplay found in the original releases on PlayStation, Xbox and PC but will also take advantage of the Switch’s unique features. However, the announcement didn’t reveal exactly what form these will take just yet. It does sound at least like it’ll get the additions of the Enhanced Edition, which arrived a few months later.

There’ll also be a fancy physical collector’s edition available for those who like their goodies. The game’s Limited Oddition will include the game in a metal case with 24 additional cartridge slots and 3 art prints. The Collector’s Oddition meanwhile, includes that plus a 160-page artbook, a keychain, stickers, three art prints and Abe’s Hand Tattoo. A nine-inch silver figurine of Abe himself completes the package.

In our original review of the game, Josh said the following. “In that image lies the appeal—and for some the off-putting twinge—of Oddworld: a bleak and black-hearted concoction, laced with snickering humour and shot through with hope.” You can read the rest of his review over here, and check out the trailer below.

There’s no specific release date for Oddworld Soulstorm on the Nintendo Switch just yet, but expect it “soon”.
