With the upcoming release on the 12th October, many consumers will be wondering how much will the RTX 4090 cost? With a base price of $1,599 in the US, and £1,679 in the UK, Nvidia’s latest flagship GPU will likely set you back a hefty sum.

With the rest of the Nvidia’s new GPUs releasing later in November, we’ll be interested to find out the RTX 40-series price at launch.

We’ve already begun seeing aftermarket GPUs listed on tech hardware retail sites – though many of these are costing upwards of Nvidia’s MSRP whilst also offering variations from the standard specifications.

RTX 4090 price

The RTX 4090 costs the following base prices in the US and UK:

— RTX 4090 price: $1,599 (US)
— RTX 4090 price: £1,679 (UK)

We don’t expect these prices to be constant – and it’s highly unlikely that Nvidia’s retail listing will remain in stock for the same length of time as the aftermarket GPUs as it’s the cheapest option. So, at some point the aftermarket RTX 4090s will dominate the buyers market and consumers will be pushed to the higher priced graphics cards.

What time can you buy the RTX 4090 on release?

The RTX 4090 release time is set for 2PM BST / 3PM CEST / 6:30PM IST / 9AM EDT / 8AM CDT / 6AM PDT.

PC gamers have gone through tumultuous times after previous GPU launch fiascos. After semi-conductor shortages and crypto mining price gougers, the graphics card market has had a difficult time.

Though, recent developments have encouraged a more stable buyers market, and we could be seeing a reliable release of these GPUs. We think there will be ample stock – though we are also wary that there are a lot of hands vying to grab an RTX 4090. It will be competitive at 2PM BST today, so make sure you are alert and ready.

Is the price of the RTX 4090 going to go up?

*UPDATE*

With the release of the RTX 4090 – we’ve rapidly seen it go out of stock. This has led consumers to be concerned with the stock levels driving up the price of the Lovelace GPU. We have already seen some extortionate third-party 4090 prices, and you’d be right to be worried about them going up more.

At the moment, they seem to staying steady, though we think this is due to the fact that most 4090s are now out of stock. We’ll have to wait and see to gauge whether prices will go up.

Nvidia’s listed price will likely remain at $1,599 / £1,679 for the initial release, but there’s no telling if the price will change later on down the launch cycle. It’s not likely that Nvidia’s asking price will go up, only down, but we don’t anticipate this for months or even a year after the initial release.

How much are third-party RTX 4090s?

With the RTX 4090 releasing on the 12th October, tech consumers are anticipating a messy scramble to score original Nvidia RTX cards at list price. If you’re lucky enough to grab a Founders Edition card – cherish it. Because anyone else after a 4090 on release will be paying a much higher price for cards from ZOTAC, ASUS, GIGABYTE, and EVGA, amongst other hardware manufacturer brands.

The MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 24GB is listed on Newegg for a whopping $3,199 which is exactly double Nvidia’s MSRP, whilst the ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC is listed for $2,939.

You wouldn’t be a fool to think that these prices are ridiculous – but there’s little we didn’t expect from the release of the RTX 4090.

Whilst aftermarket cards are hitting nearly $3000 and beyond, we can only hope to see these prices settle after a while, or we could be in for yet another GPU launch.

How much does an RTX 30-series GPU cost now?

In the build up to the RTX 4090s release, we’ve seen Nvidia’s RTX 30-series GPUs dropping in price for a range of reasons. In fact, the RTX 30-series cards are at their lowest price ever as their stock seems finally to have levelled.

What is the cheapest RTX 4090?

The cheapest RTX 4090 will be the Founders Edition, which is Nvidia’s release edition of the card. Any other variations of the card from other hardware manufactures such as ASUS, Gigabyte, ZOTAC, etc will cost much more than Nvidia’s price.
