There is a lot for PlayStation fans to anticipate between now and the end of the year. Sony has some great PS5 console exclusives on the way, and there are reports of a PS5 Pro announcement soon. While this is stuff to anticipate for the near future, right now Sony has begun a huge Dealmania sale for the PSN store. This includes an assortment of huge discounts for AAA juggernauts, but fans of horror should cast their eyes upon a widely unknown – but excellent – nightmare called Coma 2, that is on sale for just £2.99.

PlayStation fans are in for a very busy September 2024. There is the release date for Astro Bot as a PS5 exclusive, and there are rumors of a State of Play scheduled for the end of the month. In addition, details about the PS5 Pro have leaked online, and it’s expected that the upgraded console variant will be announced very soon with a release still internally pencilled in for 2024.

While the above is exciting, right now PlayStation fans can take advantage of Sony’s current Dealmania sale. It has provided lots of significant discounts to excellent games on the PSN store, and one to be recommended is Coma 2.

PSN store Dealmania sale offers Coma 2 for just £2.99

Sony has begun a new sale event on the PSN store called Dealmania. It is scheduled to last until September 11th, and it offers over 1,000 discounts for games and DLC content belonging on PS4 and PS5.

One of the best deals part of the sale for horror fans is Coma 2 Vicious Sisters. If you have a PS Plus subscription, you can bag the Digital Deluxe edition for just £2.99. This is an 80% cut from its standard £19.99 price. For those who do not have a PS Plus subscription, the deal is £3.99 instead.

The Digital Deluxe edition comes with 8 skins and a digital soundtrack. If you’re not bothered about skins, you can grab the Standard edition slightly cheaper at £2.59.

It’s not a AAA juggernaut with huge production values and a massive fandom, but Coma 2 is an excellent horror experience that is definitely worth playing, especially at such a low price. It’s got a gorgeous 2D artstyle, and it is genuinely creepy and unnerving. It’s a 2D side-scroller that more than captures the terror of running away and hiding from nightmarish beasts similar to games such as Outlast.

While the comic-esque artstyle is beautiful, the sound design is also spectacularly evil as the sound of high heels in the distance followed by an evil vixen’s screech will get your heart beating out of your chest as you run away and look for anywhere to hide.

It’s roughly six to eight hours long depending on how much you explore, and how quickly you are able to navigate around the spooky nests of horror that range from a creepy school to an abandoned police station to an urban market that houses a butcher.

Coma 2 originally come out in 2020, and it has an overwhelmingly positive reception on Steam with over 2,100 reviews. You do not need to have played the first game, which is especially good news seeing as the first game is not on PlayStation at all.

While Coma 2 is highly recommended for fans of horror wanting something excellent and scary at very little cost, there are plenty more indie and AAA games part of Dealmania.

In other PlayStation news, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle is confirmed for PS5 in 2025.
