Xbox’s upcoming exclusive Indiana Jones and The Great Circle is not exclusive after all. Following rumours earlier today, the upcoming Indiana Jones game will now be launching on PS5 just months after its Xbox and PC debut.

Indiana Jones PS5 release date

Officially announced at Gamescom alongside Borderlands 4, Starfield DLC and more, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is officially coming to PlayStation. Following an Xbox release date in December, PS5 players will be able to experience the game in Spring 2025.

For Xbox and PC players, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle will be playable on December 6, 2024. In the following months, a PlayStation 5 port of the game will release. At the time of writing, it seems that the PS5 version will be identical with content parity across all releases.

For Xbox players, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle will be included as part of the Xbox Game Pass subscription service. On PlayStation, the game will be a full-priced release, but for a game as awesome-looking as this, that’s not a negative.

The state of Xbox exclusives

With Indiana Jones now coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox fans are losing out on yet another exclusive. While Halo Infinite and Starfield are currently only available on Xbox machines, other games like Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves have also come to PlayStation.

With games like Spider-Man 2, The Last of Us and more staying PlayStation exclusive, it does seem hard to justify investing in the Xbox ecosystem. While upcoming games like Perfect Dark and Gears of War: E-Day have been revealed as Xbox exclusives, it’s hard to stay if they’ll remain only on Xbox.

As it stands, Xbox gamers are running low on exclusive offerings keeping them tied to the platform. Outside of Halo, Forza and Starfield, PlayStation gamers are getting everything and more. At least Genshin is coming to Xbox now?
