PS Plus May 2024 Extra, Premium games revealed with 35 games leaving

The PlayStation Plus May Essential games are now available to download. There is the usual offering of three Essential giveaways, and all of them are fantastic as well as relatively new. While the Essential offerings are now available to grab, the reveal date for the PS Plus May 2024 Extra and Premium games is only a week away. But, before the curtain is fully pulled aside, some additions are already confirmed while 35 games are known to be leaving.

There is a few things to anticipate this month for the PlayStation community. The release date for the new Helldivers 2 Polar Patriots Warbond is imminent, and Sony has listened to Helldivers 2 fans by saying PC players will no longer need to connect to PSN. Away from Helldivers 2, the DBD May 2024 roadmap reveals the date for when the new Dead By Daylight Chapter 32 killer and survivor will be announced.

While upcoming Helldivers 2 and Dead By Daylight content is exciting, so too are more additions to the PlayStation subscription library. The PS Plus May 2024 Essential offerings are fantastic on their own, but we already know some great games joining Extra and Premium later this month.

PS Plus Extra and Premium May 2024 games reveal date

The reveal date for the PS Plus Extra and Premium May 2024 games is May 15th. Sony usually reveals the Extra and Premium games on a Wednesday one week after the release of the Essentials. The May 2024 Essentials were given away on May 7th, hence the expectation that Sony will pull the curtain aside next Wednesday.

After the games have been announced, they will come out to play on May 21st. In regard to the June 2024 Essentials, they are expected to be identified on May 29th.

To avoid missing out, make sure to claim the current monthly games before they expire. The excellent Ghostrunner 2 is available to claim until June 3rd alongside Tunic and Destiny 2 Lightfall. Meanwhile, EA Sports FC 24 is available to claim until June 17th.

Confirmed PS Plus May 2024 Extra games

The following games are already confirmed to be joining PS Plus Extra in May 2024:

• Animal Well – May 9th
• Watch Dogs
• The Settlers New Allies

There’s no launch day confirmed for the two Ubisoft+ additions, but they will presumably join on May 21st along with all of the other arrivals this month. Meanwhile, Animal Well joins on May 9th as it is a day one release that was confirmed in April.

All of the above listed titles courtesy of truetrophies will depart on May 21st. It’s a real bad month if you’re a Final Fantasy fan, so make sure to play all of the classics while they are still available. There are some other terrific games departing including the excellent Horizon Zero Dawn, but, thankfully, its Forbidden West sequel will remain part of Extra.
