Capcom has confirmed Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will release on October 9, 2026, with the expansion adding a new story, region, challenge dungeons, and more customization options.

The company detailed the expansion during its latest Capcom Spotlight presentation, where Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen director Kento Kinoshita appeared to outline some of the new content coming to the RPG.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen adds Norgan and challenge dungeons

Dark Arisen is set in Norgan, a long-abandoned northern region. Players will explore the area through what it calls the Relic Expedition Cycle, collecting relics, appraising them to unlock new weapons and skills, then using those tools to push further into the region.

The expansion will also add 12 challenge dungeons, new hair and tattoo options, and a new storyline involving the Fallen Dragon and a pursuer named Eir.

Before the expansion arrives, Dragon’s Dogma 2 will receive another update in late August. The August update will improve performance across all platforms, add additional save slots, adjust the Dragonsplague condition, and increase weapon skill slots from four to six.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen price and platforms

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will launch for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The full package will be priced at $49.99. Players who already own Dragon’s Dogma 2 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC will also be able to buy the Dark Arisen expansion separately for $29.99.

The Norgan Fashion Set: Northern Attire will be offered as a pre-order bonus and will be available through in-game storage at launch. Players who pre-order the full Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen package on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or Steam will get immediate access to the base game before the expansion is released.

The company also said Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will receive its first public hands-on showing at Gamescom 2026.
