February has been a fantastic month for PlayStation gamers. We’ve been treated to great releases such as Persona 3 Reload and Helldivers 2, and there’s still Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth to come out tomorrow. Now we have the reveal date for the PS Plus March 2024 games and one of the upcoming Essential giveaways has leaked.
The release date and time for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is set for February 29th. If you plan to play at launch, make sure to preload the ginormous download file size so you can begin playing the exact second it launches.
While FF7 Rebirth is a fantastic culmination to February, we’re also in for a treat of massive video game releases next month. Not only is there Rise of the Ronin and Dragon’s Dogma 2, but there’s also a new South Park game plus a remake of Alone in the Dark. And, as if all these amazing new experiences weren’t enough, we’re also set to get the PS Plus March 2024 Essential games.
PS Plus March 2024 games reveal date
The PS March 2024 Essential games should be revealed on February 28th. The next batch of Essential offerings is always revealed on the final Wednesday of the current month and one week before the release date for the next Essential freebies. The PlayStation blog post for February 2024 confirms that the next Essential selection will be released on March 5th.
As for Extra and Premium, they should be announced on March 13th. Sony typically announces the Extra and Premium additions on Wednesday one week after the release of the Essentials. This can be seen in February when the Essential offerings came out on February 6th, with the upper tier additions announced on February 14th.
Before the month of chocolate eggs for Easter comes about, make sure to claim the current Essential offers while they are still available. The Essential offerings right now are the newly released Foamstars from Square Enix, along with Rollerdrome and Steelrising.
PS Plus March 2024 game leaks
One of the leaked PS Plus March 2024 Essential games is Sifu. This leak comes courtesy of the reliable billbil-kun via dealabs. It is a great martial arts experience with gorgeous visuals and crushing difficulty. It came out in 2021 so joining PS Plus after almost three years since release makes a lot of sense.
As per usual, the Essential giveaways will comprise of three games. Unfortunately, billbil-kun says the other two games remain a mystery.
Away from billbil-kun, a possible PS Plus Premium classic leak for March 2024 is Alone In The Dark The New Nightmare. This is a PS1 game that was accidentally included by PlayStation UK and PlayStation Access when revealing the Extra and Premium additions for January. Both accounts quickly removed their original posts to no longer include Alone In The Dark, but its inclusion means it’s possible it could be joining Premium at a later date.
It didn’t join in February as speculated, so maybe it’ll join the classics library in March. This would be befitting seeing as the Alone In The Dark remake comes out this month following delays. It’s also possible it joins way later in the year possibly around October to celebrate the month of all things wicked and evil with Halloween.
PS Plus March 2024 predictions
One of the predictions for PS Plus March 2024 in the tournament conducted on Reddit is Dead Island 2. This is because Dead Island 2 has just joined Xbox Game Pass. While it could be an Essential offering, we could see it more as an addition for Extra.
Aside from Dead Island 2, other predictions include Forspoken, Sonic Frontiers, and Cult of the Lamb. Lastly, there are a few guesses for Metro Exodus as well as Resident Evil 3 and Hitman. We haven’t had a sports game for several months, so it’s possible we could get one or maybe something that’s purely multiplayer.
Games leaving PS Plus in March 2024

Looking at the above list of games set to depart, one of the biggest losses will be Bethesda’s Ghostwire Tokyo. Code Vein is also a fun anime Soulslike for fans of crippling difficulty, and Outer Wilds is an absolute masterpiece gem. We also absolutely adore Tchia with its cute visuals, fun open-world, and simple story.
13 new PlayStation Plus games that joined in February
While 10 games are leaving next month, below are the 13 games that joined PS Plus Extra and Premium on February 20th:

The Tales games are all great, and The Outer Worlds is a magnificent RPG from Obsidian. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is a fun life consumer, and Resistance Retribution will be a good throwback to one of PlayStation’s best franchises that hasn’t returned since 2011.
