March is the most stacked month of the year so far, but April will also be filled with great games for PlayStation gamers. While there will be plenty to buy next month, there will also be the usual round of giveaways for PS Plus subscribers. Here you will find the PS Plus April 2024 games reveal date along with the official confirmation of an addition for Premium subscribers and 14 big games leaving.

Before next month comes about, the release date for Dragon’s Dogma 2 and release date for Rise of the Ronin have both arrived. Each game is now playable and you can check out our Rise of the Ronin review to see how the newest PS5 console exclusive fares. As if these two weren’t enough, the March 2024 video game releases also include Alone in the Dark remake and a new South Park set to land on March 26th.

While March has been a great few weeks of video game releases, next month will treat us to another new PS5 console exclusive in Stellar Blade, and there will be also the release of Sea of Thieves on PS5. And, to cap off another excellent month, here’s hoping the PS Plus April 2024 Essential games are strong.

PS Plus April 2024 games reveal date

The PS Plus April 2024 Essential games should be revealed on March 27th. The next batch of Essential offerings is always revealed on the final Wednesday of the current month and one week before the release date for the next Essential freebies. The PlayStation blog post for March 2024 confirms that the next Essential selection will be released on April 2nd.

As for Extra and Premium, they should be announced on April 10th. Sony typically announces the Extra and Premium additions on Wednesday one week after the release of the Essentials.

Before the first month of spring begins, make sure to claim the March Essentials before they expire. Sifu is an excellent martial arts tale of revenge, F1 23 is fun for fans of Formula One racing, and Hello Neighbor 2 is a captivating mystery.

Official PS Plus April 2024 addition

The PlayStation Blog post for the PS Plus March Extra and Premium releases has confirmed an addition for premium subscribers in April. Unfortunately, it is not a game.

Rather than another video game, Sony is adding My Hero Academia Season 1 to Sony Pictures Core. Per the PlayStation Blog, this is for Premium/Deluxe members.

Games leaving PS Plus in April 2024

Below is a list of 14 games set to leave PS Plus in April 2024:

  • Sifu (Essential) – Apr 1st
  • F1 23 (Essential) – Apr 1st
  • Hello Neighbor 2 (Essential) – Apr 1st
  • Ghostbusters The Video Game Remastered
  • Bassmaster Fishing
  • Necromunda Underhive Wars
  • Chicken Police Paint It Red
  • R-Type Final 2
  • Gunvolt Chronicles Luminous Avenger iX
  • Fighting Ex Layer
  • Everspace
  • Dangerous Golf
  • Soul Calibur 6
  • Reel Fishing Roadtrip Adventures

Looking at the above list, all three of the Essential games are big disappearances. These are the March Essential giveaways set to expire, and you should definitely make sure to add Sifu, F1 23, and Hello Neighbor 2 to your library or you will never have the chance to claim them again.

As for the other games, SoulCalibur 6 is a huge departure. It’s a brilliant fighting game that rivals Street Fighter 6 and the newest Mortal Kombat, and it has an awesome character customization suite along with great gameplay. Then there’s Ghostbusters The Video Game Remastered which is an infinitely better experience than the dreadful new movies released in recent years.
