Persona 6 is reportedly set to be released in late 2024 as a PlayStation 5 timed exclusive. Unfortunately, this means those playing on other platforms such as Xbox and PC may not be able to experience the next relationship-centric, turn-based installment in the series once it gets launched.

Most of the fan base was predictably disappointed upon learning of its PlayStation-only availability. However, it isn’t exactly a surprise that it’s being released on Sony’s system first since Persona 3, 4, and 5 were all PS-exclusive games during their opening years. It was only later on that these entries were eventually made playable on other systems so it seems as if Atlus has simply decided to stick to the same release strategy once again.

The rumor of Persona 6 being a PlayStation-exclusive installment came from a podcast episode made by content creator Nate the Hate. In it, the YouTuber noted that P6 would not be coming to the PS4 and that he anticipates it to be “a timed exclusive for PS5.” However, he ended up mentioning that Microsoft might already be making an aggressive play to get Persona 6 on the Xbox earlier so this may still end up changing.

Afterwards, Nate talked about other projects that Atlus and Sega currently have in the pipeline including the Persona 3 Remake and a Persona 5 spinoff title that’s reportedly going to be released in early 2024. Nate the Hate then stated that more footage on the long-awaited P3 remake is allegedly going to be shown during the June 2023 Xbox Games Showcase.

As always, it’s important to take these rumors with a grain of salt as the developers are yet to actually confirm these details. But with the previously mentioned gaming showcases set to go live soon, we may not have to wait too long until we get more information.
