Publisher Atlus has revealed its plans to mark 25 years of the Persona series with seven new announcements over the next year, as well as launching a dedicated website.

While it’s keeping the precise details close to its chest, the dedicated website for the Persona 25th anniversary celebration (translated via Google Translate and spotted by Persona Central) thanks fans for their support in helping the series exceed 15 million sales. The website promises that the seven announcements will include “25th commemorative goods, various events, collaborations, and of course game information.”  The celebrations will kick off from this September, and run all the way through until Autumn 2022 next year.

The series kicked off all the way back in 1996 with Revelations: Persona on the original PlayStation as a spinoff of the Shin Megami Tensei series. In fact, it would retain the latter series’ title until Persona 4: Golden which was arguably the start of the series’ rise to more mainstream popularity in the West on the PlayStation Vita.

Of course, the most globally successful entry in the series has been Persona 5, which launched on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 back in 2017. By 2019 the series had shipped over 10 million games and merchandise, and an enhanced release of that title Persona 5: Royal launched in March of last year marking the most recent main-series release, spin-offs aside.

Could we see a Persona 6 announced as part of the Persona 25th anniversary celebrations? For now, we’ll have to wait and see.
