Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal are all on their way to Nintendo Switch.

The news came during today’s Nintendo Direct Mini partner showcase. Check out the trailer below:

The first game that is scheduled for release is Persona 5 Royal, which is coming on October 21st. Nintendo is releasing the two sequels in 2023. And the company hasn’t specified a release date yet for those.

This is pretty big news. During the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase, earlier this month, we saw that these Persona games were coming to Xbox. Now Nintendo, too, will get them. The series, made by Japanese developer Atlus, has been a PlayStation exclusive for years.

It seems strange that Atlus would opt for Persona 3 Portable, a PSP version of a PS2 game, rather its original format. But it would find a fitting home on the Switch, which is kind of portable.

The last Persona game reviewed on VideoGamer was Persona 4 Arena, a spin-off fighting game:

“Once the game releases properly over here it’ll be a bit more lively, and have a few more people going at it. You’ll get bossed around like anything at first, but that is the way of the beat em up. For those that can’t possibly handle being called a spammer or a rude epithet over Xbox Live, however, there’s plenty else to do offline. Story mode is huge, arcade is good for quick blasts, and challenge mode is pretty extensive too.”
