Here’s what we know so far about OW2 Season 3, including its release date.

Overwatch 2 Season 3 – Release Date

Season 3 of Overwatch 2 began on February 7 2023, as confirmed by Overwatch via their Twitter account.

Previously, Blizzard said that each season in Overwatch 2 should last around nine weeks.

Assuming everything goes to Blizzard’s schedule, that would also put the end date of Season 3 nine weeks later, which would be Tuesday, April 11 2023.

We’ll update you when we get official confirmation – or should these dates move due to unforeseen circumstances.

Overwatch 2 Season 3 – New Hero or New Map?

For the first time since Overwatch 2 launched, there won’t be a new hero with the latest season. Instead the new season brings a brand new map to the game known as the Antarctic Peninsula.

As you may have gathered from the name, the icy locale will feature plenty of snow that users will surely enjoy playing through – and even some cheeky penguins.

Despite the lack of new heroes, there’s still plenty in store in the new season of Overwatch 2. Including an unexpected collaboration with popular anime One Punch Man.

Overwatch 2 Season 3 – What Else Is Included?

With only one day to spare before the new season launched, Overwatch 2 provided a new roadmap via their Twitter account of what fans can expect to see in Season 3.

First and foremost, fans will have access to a new Ultimate Battle Pass pack, featuring a Beekeeper Sigma skin, tier skips, and coins, as well as a new Starter pack, which will feature a Honey Bee Mercy skin and coins.

Furthermore, new bundle drops will be available in the shop every week, while new Twitch drops are expected to continue throughout Season 3.

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, which is approaching soon, OW2 Season 3 will also include a limited time event for the holiday, which will feature a Cupid Hanzo bundle come February 14.

Season 3 will also be home to some great events, including a One-Man Punch Limited Time Collab, which is set to start on March 7, and a PachiMarchi Event, which is set to begin on March 21. The PachiMarchi Event will come with a new game mode as well, so be sure to stay tuned for that.

In addition, director Aaron Keller posted a blog outlining some of the outstanding issues in the game that the team are hoping to address in the new season in more general changes.

One of these is a shake-up to the game’s Ranked system, as Keller describes the current one as suffering from “poor comprehension” – some of these changes will also come in Season 4.
