Overwatch 2 Twitch Drops are back and fans of Blizzard’s free-to-play co-op shooter are about to get a couple of unique goodies featuring everyone’s favorite heroic hamster. As is now par for the course, fans on games consoles and PC will be able to earn rewards simply by watching their favourite streamers play the game for a set number of hours.

With the Overwatch 2 Season 4 release date practically here, this marks the first set of goodies being given out beginning with a Toolbox spray for Wrecking Ball and a Toolbox souvenir, which you can equip with any hero you want. However, it’s currently unclear whether there’ll be more freebies after the initial giveaway period.

Overwatch 2 Twitch Drops – what can you get?

Blizzard has confirmed that viewers will be able to earn the Toolbox spray for Wrecking Ball “when you watch two hours of any Overwatch 2 content on Twitch.” If you watch three more hours of content afterwards, you’ll also be able to get the Toolbox souvenir that you can equip with any hero.

According to the official developer blog post, the giveaway event will run from May 9 to May 22 so make sure to tune in during this period to get these unique freebies. Usually, the time watched doesn’t have to be the same channel, so you can spend one hour in one channel, and five in another for example – as long as both channels are playing Overwatch.

Time is accumulative, so Twitch should remember your progress and you don’t have to do all six hours in one sitting either. Bear in mind though, that you must claim the Pose before you’re eligible for the skin.

Overwatch 2 how to get Twitch Drops

In order to receive your Twitch Drop Rewards, you need to do a light bit of setting up. Firstly, you’ll have to sign-in to your Battle.net account. Then, head to the ‘Battle.net Connections page. Finally, hit the Connect link next to the ‘Twitch’ setting, then log-in with your Twitch credentials. Follow the instructions on screen to connect your accounts. You’ll have to access this through your Twitch account to where you’ll be able to see your drops connections and permissions.

Once you’ve earned and claimed your rewards, you’ll have to be sure you’re logging into the correct region – the first you login to will be the one where your items are delivered. The good news is, it shouldn’t matter what format you play the game on – as the drops will be available across console and PC as long as you’re logged into the correct Battle.net account.
