Blizzard has announced that two characters are currently unavailable in Overwatch 2 as they attend to some bugs.
Last night, the game’s official Twitter account revealed that Bastion and Torbjorn were “taking a quick trip to the workshop while we iron out a few bugs in their ability kits.”

Luckily it seems their removal will only be temporary, here’s what we’ve learned so far.
Overwatch 2 – where are Torbjorn and Bastion?
While Blizzard work on him, Torbjorn will be available in Quick Play only – and not in any of the competitive modes. Bastion, however, won’t be available at all in any modes until the bugs are squished.
The bugs in question appear to be related to their abilities. As PC Gamer notes, certain players found a way in which they were able to spam Bastion’s Ultimate an almost infinite number of times in the window.
Torbojorn’s bug was a little less explosive, with players finding a way to extend his Overload ability past its usual intended duration.
There’s no word on when either character will return just yet, outside of when their respective issues are fixed. We’ll keep checking and update you when we hear more from Blizzard themselves.
Overwatch 2 locked character bug
This isn’t the only issue with locked characters fans are currently facing in Overwatch 2. A currently known bug is an issue where the game is preventing players from accessing heroes they’ve previously unlocked.
As of 7pm PDT (3am UK time) the team has said they’re aware of the issue, and “are working to get this issue resolved as quickly as possible.”
A patch was deployed with some emergency maintenance about an hour later, though it’s not clear yet if this was specifically for this issue or not, but we’ll update when Blizzard do.
