Overwatch 2 Best DPS Heroes – Echo
Being one of the later editions to Overwatch 1’s roster means that Echo’s toolkit has received fewer updates in Overwatch 2 than many other heroes. But this is not necessarily a loss, as her abilities and damage output are already fine-tuned and devastating.
Echo’s Tri-shot primary fire can whittle opponents’ health down in an instant at mid-range, even getting through shields without too much trouble. Her focus beam ultimate will deal such incredible DPS that it will quickly down anyone that can survive her already impressive damage capabilities.
Overwatch 2 Best DPS Heroes – Cassidy
Cassidy has always been one of Overwatch’s most popular damage-dealing heroes, and that hasn’t changed with his transition into Overwatch 2. While he is no longer the long-range pseudo-sniper he was way back at the start of Overwatch, Cassidy’s mid-range damage output is still exceptional.
Cassidy requires careful aim to be used correctly, but once you get used to applying headshots with his Peacekeeper, Cassidy becomes one of Overwatch 2’s most potent killing machines. And that’s not even taking into account his Ultimate ability and its insta-kill potential.

Overwatch 2 Best DPS Heroes – Genji
Genji is Overwatch 2’s current popularity front-runner, being picked for more matches than any other hero. There’s good reason for that, and it isn’t just the cyborg ninja’s stylish new redesign. Genji remains an agile, high-damage pick, with incredible potential DPS, and his deflect ability gives him true defensive versatility, matching Soldier: 76’s healing for utility.
While dealing damage is certainly his main attribute, it’s his ability to move around the map at speed, disengage, and initiate fights that give him excellent survivability. If you’re on the opposing team, dealing damage to Genji is as hard as avoiding his high DPS offensive toolkit.
Best DPS Heroes – Sojourn
Sojourn is shaking up the DPS rankings in Overwatch 2, outranking Overwatch 1 heroes by virtue of her railgun’s rapid fire, charging and complimenting her incredible damaging secondary cannon. Sojourn may be new to the Overwatch scene, but she’s already making her mark with an excellent offensive toolkit. Many may have expected her to serve as an all-rounder like Soldier 76, but Sojourn is burying those expectations in a blast of overwhelming artillery.
Best DPS Heroes – Tracer
The time-slipping speedster is back, with more DPS potential than ever. Tracer excels at breaking enemy formations, using her incredible mobility to get around seemingly solid tank walls and attack where a team is most vulnerable. Tracer can move in, deal incredible burst DPS, and rewind or teleport herself out of danger before suffering any serious reprisal.
