But, which ones are best suited to the current meta? We’ll run you through the Damage heroes with the best DPS in Overwatch 2 during Season 8 so you can know the best damage heroes.
Overwatch 2 Best DPS Heroes – Soldier 76
There’s no hero quite as reliable as Soldier 76. Being many player’s first hero, he’s incredibly easy to play, but still just as powerful as other heroes. He’s got a versatile kit that makes him an asset to any team.
Soldier 76 has always been a popular hero, and Overwatch 2 continues with this trend. He’s got a Heavy Pulse Rifle that is both easy to use and does tons of damage, he can sprint away, and his Bionic Field keeps himself and his team alive to fight. Paired with his Tac Visor, he’s bound to get tons of kills.
Just getting started
If you’re new to Overwatch 2, we’d definitely recommend starting out playing Soldier 76. He’s incredibly easy to use and great on any map and mode. He’s also got a kit that remniscent of other FPS games, so he’s going to feel familiar even if you’ve never touched the game.
Overwatch 2 Best DPS Heroes – Cassidy
Cassidy has always been one of Overwatch’s most popular damage-dealing heroes, and that hasn’t changed even with time. While he is no longer the long-range pseudo-sniper he was way back at the start of Overwatch, Cassidy’s mid-range damage output is still exceptional.
Cassidy requires careful aim to be used correctly, but once you get used to applying headshots with his Peacekeeper, Cassidy becomes one of Overwatch 2’s most potent killing machines. And that’s not even taking into account his Ultimate ability and its instant kill potential.
Overwatch 2 Best DPS Heroes – Genji
Genji is quite possibly one of Overwatch 2’s coolest characters, being a green cyborg ninja dude. Genji remains an agile, high-damage pick, with incredible potential DPS, and his deflect ability gives him true defensive versatility, matching Soldier: 76’s healing for utility.
While dealing damage is certainly his main attribute, it’s his ability to move around the map at speed, disengage, and initiate fights that give him excellent survivability. If you’re on the opposing team, dealing damage to Genji is as hard as avoiding his high DPS offensive toolkit.
Best DPS Heroes – Ashe
While you do need to know how to aim to get the most out of Ashe, once you use her correctly, she’s unstoppable. Her semi-automatic rifle can do insane amounts of damage and take out enemies easily. If you can hit headshots, Ashe is for you.
Combined with a kit that allows her to easily get out of trouble and disrupt enemy teams, Ashe is a great pick for any DPS player. Her ultimate allows Bob to do even more damage for her, putting enemies at a low health that’s perfect for her rifle to finish off.
Best DPS Heroes – Tracer
Tracer has been the face of Overwatch since the beginning, and it’s easy to see why. She’s one of the fastest and most useful heroes in the game.
In Overwatch 2, the time-slipping speedster is back, with more DPS potential than ever. Tracer excels at breaking enemy formations, using her incredible mobility to get around seemingly solid tank walls and attack where a team is most vulnerable. Tracer can move in, deal with incredible burst DPS, and rewind or teleport herself out of danger before suffering any serious reprisal.
