When it comes to collaborations in Fortnite, Marvel is likely the first name that will pop into your head. Over the years, we have seen the likes of Spider-Man, Hulk, Thanos, Captain America, and Loki come to the game, and with Disney recently investing $1.5 billion into Epic Games, this partnership is not going to end any time soon.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 has just gotten underway earlier this week, kicking off with a Fallout collaboration and teasing partnerships with the likes of Metallica and Pirates of the Caribbean in the near future too. But, some are already looking towards next season, and we may be seeing the return of two of Marvel’s most popular characters in the MCU.
Prominent Fortnite leaker HYPEX took to X to reveal that Deadpool and Wolverine could be the focus of the upcoming rumored Marvel season that could happen in Chapter 5 Season 4 saying,
“A ‘Fortnite x Deadpool & Wolverine’ Collab is most likely happening in Season 4 (Marvel Season) as Epic are currently re-working the old “Wolverine Claws” Mythic specifically for S4, and they usually try to re-release old Battle Pass collabs with alternative designs/suits.”
Deadpool & Wolverine is set to hit US theaters on July 26th as part of MCU Phase Five which means a great opportunity for another collaboration with Fortnite. The partnership between Epic Games and Marvel dates long before Disney’s investment in the Fortnite developers, with the first Marvel collab dating back to 2018. In 2020, Chapter 2 Season 4 was a dedicated Marvel season that brought the likes of Doctor Doom, Wolverine, Groot, Storm, and Thor to the game.
It has been rumored that Chapter 5 Season 4 could be another Marvel season, and these recent leaks point to that, with new Wolverine and Deadpool cosmetics in the works, as well as re-working the Mythic Wolverine Claws item that players could acquire during Chapter 2 Season 4 by taking down the X-Men hero.
