Disney provides update on massive Fortnite collaboration

Disney and Epic Games teamed up to bring a massive new collaboration to Fortnite. These two companies have worked together for a few years, bringing a lot of new content, including many Star Wars cosmetics and items. Earlier this year, Disney invested $1.5 billion to acquire a stake in Epic, beginning an even bigger partnership.

The entertainment company recently provided an update on the partnership with Epic, and here’s everything you need to know about it.

When will the Disney x Fortnite collaboration come?

At the moment, the release date of the Fortnite x Disney collaboration is unknown. However, considering that this is a long-term partnership, we don’t expect it to arrive soon. While the two companies will certainly keep working together and bringing new content to Fortnite, we may not see any iconic Disney characters by 2025.

The good news is that the wait will certainly be worth it. Not only will the collab bring fancy new cosmetics, but it will also include more experiences. Disney just revealed a couple of interesting details about the upcoming collab, making the Fortnite community even more excited about the future of the game.

“This new universe will not only give users the chance to play and interact with Disney content but will offer them the opportunity to create their own wholly unique Disney-themed gaming experiences, too,” Disney posted on its website.

At the moment, we’re not 100% sure what this means. However, it’s very likely that players will be able to create their own Disney-themed maps and games within Fortnite. This is what happened with the LEGO collaboration as well, and thanks to it, players can not only make new LEGO-themed games but also make money from them.

Since the collaboration is likely at least a year away, we might get more information about it throughout the year. In the meantime, Epic is gearing up for the release of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3, which is scheduled to come out on Friday, May 24.
