2K has confirmed that Devin Booker is the main cover athlete for NBA 2K23, alongside Michael Jordan, who adorns a variant cover.
Booker is the starting shooting guard for the Phoenix Suns. And he will appear on both the gameâs Standard Edition and its Digital Deluxe Edition.
On his selection for the cover, Booker said:
âIâve been a huge NBA 2K fan since I was a kid, and itâs surreal to finally join the exclusive club of basketball greats whoâve been cover athletes.
Booker then went on to praise his fellow cover stars:
âIâm also honoured to share this yearâs covers with the iconic Michael Jordan, who changed the game for all players who came after him, as well as two of the all-time WNBA GOATs, Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird, who continue to make a huge impact on the game.â
Booker is referencing WNBA stars Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird, who appear on the GameStop-exclusive WNBA Edition.
If youâre interested in NBA 2K, check out my rambling on the subject. I play it more than I play any other game. In a feature on the ups and downs of this long-running dynasty of a series, I said:
âAs an annual purchaser and player of NBA 2K, I am in a strange position: that of the continually, and mostly happily, conned. The series has a monopoly. Any impulses toward progression, in the formula of play, occur with the slow, unchallenged languor of a champion.â
NBA 2K23Â is out on September 9th, on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Switch and PC.
