You know it’s Call of Duty hype season when the live action trailer for this year’s game drops, and this year is no exception as the Modern Warfare 3 trailer is now here.

As we approach the Modern Warfare 3 release date, this trailer is going to get fans hyped up now that the recent MW3 beta is in the rear view mirror. The trailer, entitled The Lobby is a little more traditional than previous live action trailers – rather than having people fighting in a Warzone (no pun intended), we follow the exploits of one ‘Killswitch’ as they’re invited to an underground location known as, aptly, The Lobby.

There, he passes a whole bevvy of players gearing up -literally – to play the new game – including those deciding their best MW3 equipment and weapons, of course. There’s also plenty of nods to the much anticipated features, such as MW3’s zombie mode. We’re big fans of the trailer’s knowing sense of self-deprecating humour as well – with some sly winks and nods that reference players who don’t like some of the game’s more garish outfits, operators and weapons and even a nod to the return of MW3 map voting as one person says they want to play Flavela again (before being vetoed by their squad leader.)

A very nice touch, however is the inclusion of the actual real-life actors who play some of the Modern Warfare story’s best characters in the game, including of course the returning Makarov (played by Julian Kostov) and El Sin Nombre herself, Valeria. It’s rounded off by the regular celebrity cameo – this time with rapper 21 Savage joining the team with a new song from the rapper providing the soundtrack. In another nod to the series’ roots, the trailer also sees the return of perhaps its most famous tagline – ‘There’s a Soldier in all of us.’

There’s not long to go now before the launch of Modern Warfare 3 on November 10. For more on the game, check out our guides on MW3 early access – here’s how you can play Modern Warfare 3 early and our picks for the Best Throwables in MW3 based on our time with the beta.
