The MW3 community is no stranger to experiencing cheats and hacks in a series as widely distributed as CoD. However, that doesn’t stop each unwanted incident from being frustrating, especially if one player is holding a match ransom with an exploit that’s difficult to stop. Unfortunately, this is exactly what’s happening in Modern Warfare 3’s War Mode, as numerous players have reported encountering exploiters that make this game mode nearly unplayable.
Despite Sledgehammer Games trying their best to cater to the community’s suggestions with the impending introduction of non-disbanding lobbies in MW3 and the handy new ‘Splat’ anti-cheat feature, players that abuse the game’s mechanics remain rampant in the latest CoD entry, especially in the aforementioned War Mode. According to a Reddit post from a concerned fan, every game they join or queue into is ruined by one exploiter sitting under the map, “farming for a nuke.”
While the exploiter continuously farms kills for the game-ending explosive, they simultaneously contest the tank so the opposing team can’t push it. This leaves the team unlucky enough to face the exploiter helpless, as they can only watch while their squad gets decimated by an unseen enemy. Naturally, many of the responses below the same post complained about similar incidents, as one commenter said: “[I] was playing with a dude last night who was claiming it isn’t exploiting because you can get there “naturally.”
Of course, other responses then suggested simply reporting the MW3 War Mode exploiters in an effort to get them banned from the game. Unfortunately, the anti-cheat and report system in CoD has historically been unreliable, so some were predictably skeptical of doing so. Nevertheless, this is currently the only way to combat hacking and cheating in the game manually, so the community will have to make do with what they’ve got.
