It’s been confirmed that the MW3 ranked mode will land during the first post-launch season.

The competitive mode is always a highlight for Call of Duty players, so they’ll be pleased to hear they can get their sweats on not too long after launch. The news was confirmed during the Call of Duty Next broadcast, where it was revealed that Treyarch is the studio focusing on Ranked Mode, and they hope to have it ready reasonably early into the new Call of Duty’s life cycle.

Though details remain scarce on what this revamped competitive mode will bring, you can most likely expect changes similar to those introduced to the MW3 multiplayer and MW3 Zombies modes. However, this is still speculation for the time being, as the developers may just improve upon the foundation that Infinity Ward and Raven Software brought in with the previous iteration.

Activision and Treyarch also haven’t provided a specific date at the time of writing. Still, if any of the past release windows are anything to go by, we predict that the MW3 ranked mode will be launched about one to two months after the Modern Warfare 3 release date. This was the same time frame that it took for the first season of MW2 to drop, so we expect it to remain the same moving forward.

Of course, you won’t have to wait too long now to get your hands on the game, as the MW3 beta start time is practically here already. There’ll be various exciting new features that are going to be put on display during this pre-release phase, so if you want to learn how to get and redeem an MW3 beta code, we’ve got you covered. If you want to find out more about the latest CoD installment beforehand, though, then you can check out our MW3 weapons, MW3 maps, and MW3 Zombies pages.
