Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is available to play right now for anyone who enjoys the campaign. However, online gameplay is still yet to come. With the online component’s release coming soon, here you will find the MW3 multiplayer preload date and time so you know exactly when you can download zombies.
The Modern Warfare 3 campaign has not been received particularly well. It’s resulted in furious CoD players accidentally review bombing the wrong MW3 on Metacritic, and fans have complained it’s too short and feels like Warzone PvE. This is unfortunate as the campaigns in the Modern Warfare reboot were fantastic for MW1 and MW2.
Although it’s sad that the newest story hasn’t lived up to expectations, the good news is that online gameplay is imminent. And you can preload and download MW3 multiplayer and zombies ahead of launch so you can battle online as soon as possible.
MW3 multiplayer preload date
The MW3 multiplayer preload date is Wednesday, November 8th. This is for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC via Steam. This was confirmed by Activision in their specs and PC trailer blog post. If you haven’t already, you can still pre-order the cross-gen bundle on console and the Standard edition on Steam right now to download and play the early access campaign.
While console and Steam users have to wait until November 8th to download multiplayer and zombies, users on battle.net can preload the full Modern Warfare 3 package right now. Of course, in order to preload at all, you must pre-order. The cross-gen bundle costs £69.99/$79.99 on the PSN store, and it comes with the following:

When can you preload MW3 multiplayer?
The MW3 campaign multiplayer preload time is at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM GMT on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. This was officially confirmed by Activision ahead of the Modern Warfare 3 release date. You will have two days to preload multiplayer and zombies before the official release time.

As for download size, it can be over 200 GB. As for why it’s so ridiculously big, the Call of Duty Twitter account posted a statement saying it ‘is due to the increased amount of content available Day 1, including open world zombies, support for item carry forward from #MW2, as well as map files for current Call of Duty: Warzone’.
