MW3 publisher Activision has announced that the campaign for their imminent series entry is set to be a direct sequel to Modern Warfare 2’s (2022) events. However, this isn’t the only revelation that’s been provided as the CoD masterminds have also stated that the long-awaited, upcoming Zombies mode is set to be the series’ “largest offering to date.”

Ahead of the Modern Warfare 3 release date, Sledgehammer Games and Activision have shared several massive bombshells that are sure to excite the loyal CoD fan base even more than they already are. As mentioned before, the publisher has stated that the upcoming campaign is set to be a direct sequel to its predecessor, a fact that the Call of Duty blog revealed had been in the works from the beginning of development of Modern Warfare 2.

Nevertheless, diehard fans should still be happy to hear this tidbit since this means that most of the beloved characters from the MW2 campaign, like Alejandro and Valeria, could be making appearances throughout the next story arc again. Naturally, there could also be new roster additions as well since the rumored MW3 Vault Edition allegedly includes a skin for an operator called Warden.

But aside from the fact that the campaign is set to be a much-needed follow-up, Activision’s blog post also revealed the fact that the long-awaited MW3 Zombies mode that’s set to be featured will apparently be its “largest offering to date.” Based on a previous article from Insider Gaming, it had been reported that the undead match offering would essentially be “an Outbreak 2.0.” With this in mind, a Zombie-themed extraction mode similar to the original Outbreak and the recent Warzone DMZ would indeed make it one of the biggest offerings in the series.

There will also apparently be new Open Combat missions introduced in Campaign along with new Combat Vests and a Perk system you can utilize to customize your multiplayer character. In addition, Sledgehammer Games are also bringing in a new Tac-Stance movement, as well as shiny new After-Market parts for bespoke Gunsmith customization.

Finally, Activision will be introducing one access point for future CoD content. Called the Call of Duty HQ, this central hub is going to be your main stop for all things MW2, Warzone, and MW3, meaning you’ll be able to play a majority of the games and modes you have access to in a single spot.

Now, these aren’t the only crucial pieces of information that are going to be shared by the developers as more will be showcased once the Modern Warfare 3 reveal event start time rolls around.
