We’re just a few hours away from the Modern Warfare 3 reveal event start time is nearly upon us, with this year’s Call of Duty set to be formally revealed via a Shadow Siege Limited Time Event in Warzone.

Information has been coming in thick and fast this week on Modern Warfare 3, including confirmation MW3 will be the first direct sequel in back to back years for quite some time. We also know the new game will see the return of a familiar foe, and also – perhaps most unexpectedly for a non-Black Ops game – see the return of Call of Duty Zombies.

Ahead of the Modern Warfare 3 release date, Sledgehammer Games is holding a Shadow Siege LTE in Warzone, that will give players their first taste of the new game. As an added bonus, those who take part will also be able to nab some sweet MW3 reveal event rewards for their trouble. So if you want to know when the reveal event kicks off, then we’ve got you covered.

What time does the MW3 reveal event start?

The Modern Warfare 3 reveal event kicks off within Warzone later this evening at around 6:30pm UK time. You can find out how that relates to your timezone below.

At the time of writing, Activision has kept its cards close to its chest exactly how the the reveal will play out – for example, if there’ll be a video component or if everything will just take place within Warzone, but we’ll be sure to update once we know more.

While Activision is yet to reveal exactly how the Shadow Siege event will work, we do know the event will take place on the Zaya Observatory part of the Warzone map. We’re also teased that it’ll involve an ‘airborne to ground assault’ of the location.

According to Charlie Intel, it’s believed that the mode will feature a number of objectives for players to complete in Warzone. While we don’t yet know what those objectives will be, previous game reveals have seen the game’s trailer play once all objectives have been completed.

To take part, first make sure you have the latest Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone Season 4 patch downloaded, as this has the content needed for the event. Once you have that, launch the Call of Duty HQ app from your console or PC, and you should see the event tile on the main menu.

Activision has also revealed that there’ll be a bunch of freebies for players who take part in the Shadow Siege event to claim that they’ll be able to use in both Warzone and in MW3. You can find out more about those in our MW3 reveal event rewards list.
