Following the first weekend since the launch of MW2 and Warzone 2’s Season 1 Reloaded update, some players of the FPS have been running into a few issues with the shooter.

One of these issues has been popping up all too frequently of late, specifically Dev Error 11557. In fact, Infinity Ward has had to tweet to fans to help them get around this issue.

Here’s what we know about MW2 and Warzone 2 Dev Error 11557 and, more importantly, how to fix it.

What is MW2 & Warzone 2 Dev Error 11557?

It seems Dev Error 11557 refers to a corrupted file. While there doesn’t seem to be one consistent cause for the issue, some players are reporting they’ve run into it after unlocking certain weapon blueprints.

Unfortunately, it also seems this error has been plaguing users for a good while now, with some reporting running into it before last week’s Reloaded update.

However, it’s certainly reared its head a few more times in the days since – enough that Infinity Ward has tweeted a specific fix for players running into this issue.

How to fix MW2 & Warzone 2 Dev Error 11557?

The fastest way to fix this pesky error, if you’re affected, is to reinstall the game. It’s not great news – particularly if you’re on a slower connection – but it hopefully should solve the issue.

If not, however, there is more you can do. It’s possible, Infinity Ward say, that the effected file could be in the streamer cache.

If this is the case – here’s how you fix it. Head to the Settings Menu, then the Graphics and then Quality submenus. In here, find the On-Demand Texture Streaming, and then Show More.

Then, you want to head to the drop-down menu for ‘Allocated Texture Cache Size’ and set this to the minimum. Hopefully, that should solve the issue and get you back once more into the fray.

Hopefully, the teams will squish this bug very soon – be sure to keep an eye on the Modern Warfare 2 Trello board for updates.
