Call of Duty fans have an exciting rest of the year ahead of them. Modern Warfare 3 Season 4 will launch at the end of May, and we are also set to get our first look at the new CoD entry coming out this year. Not much is officially known about the new game, but fresh leaks point to a Call of Duty 2024 reveal this month along with an Operator pre-order bonus for MW3 and Warzone.
Although not officially confirmed, the next CoD installement is reportedly set in the Gulf War. Leaks have it poised to contain the best campaign ever in the Call of Duty franchise, and leaked details for its zombies mode should excite fans who were disappointed by the living dead in Modern Warfare 3. In addition, multiplayer should be a blast judging by all the 100+ leaked weapons, killstreaks, and perks.
While Black Ops 6 will be showcased in June by Microsoft for their summer showcase, it seems we are getting a reveal before then this month. This is according to recent datamines that have also potentially leaked a pre-order bonus.
Call of Duty 2024 datamines for reveal and pre-order bonus
We previously reported that leaks pointed to a Call of Duty 2024 reveal in May, and there is a new development that further points to this happening. Per CharlieINTEL on Twitter, dataminers have discovered references to ‘s3_cerberus_reveal’ in the Warzone game files following the Modern Warfare 3 Season 3 Reloaded update.
Cerberus is the codename for the new Call of Duty 2024 installment, and S3 suggests Season 3. Activision’s Season 4 is currently set to commence on May 29th judging by the current in-game battle pass countdown, so any reveal should happen before the Season 4 start date.
In addition to the reveal for this month, dataminers have also possibly found references to a pre-order bonus. Again per CharlieINTEL, dataminers have found references to Frank Woods as an Operator for Modern Warfare 3.
The belief is that this will be a pre-order bonus for Black Ops 6 which, upon pre-ordering, gives access to Operator Frank Woods in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone. In addition to this, other pre-order bonus leaks include early access to the campaign as well as zombies.
None of this is official, so it is merely leaks and rumors at the time of writing. In addition to a potential reveal this month, Microsoft will properly showcase Black Ops 6 for the first time on June 9th during their summer showcase. Not only that, but we may also discover if Black Ops Gulf War will be free for millions of gamers from day one by joining Xbox Game Pass at launch.
