How To Fix Voice Chat Not Working in MW2

Check In-Game Audio Settings

You can check the game’s audio by heading over to the Settings menu and selecting the Audio option. Then, scroll down until you reach the Voice Chat section. The first thing you can do is check if the Voice Chat option is toggled on. Next, select the drop-down menu for the Voice Chat Device category and select either Headset or Microphone. You’ll also be able to test your device by turning on the Microphone Test option.

Turn On Crossplay Communication

This particular method is tailored specifically for console users because crossplay can’t currently be toggled off for PC players. To do this, simply head over to the game’s settings by pressing the Options button. Then, select the Account & Network category and the first two selections you’ll see will be crossplay and crossplay communication. Make sure the second field is toggled on.

Leave And Rejoin Your Party’s Voice Chat

Though this initially may seem like it won’t fix the issue, this has seemingly already worked for some users. In order to do this, you’ll simply need to leave your party’s voice channel and then rejoin it again afterwards. This will only be a temporary fix, however, because apparently the voice chat function will stop functioning again after a few hours. If this happens, you will have to leave and rejoin the voice chat again.
