Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy has revealed the next villain in its cast, releasing a new cinematic introducing the Grand Unifier Raker.
Raker, also known as Cardinal Raker, is a high ranking member of the Universal Church in Truth in the comics. He first crossed paths with the titular Guardians in 2008, wielding the power of the belief battery, allowing him to achieve anything he believes strongly enough in. How much of this will translate into his game counterpart is currently unclear. However, he does seem to be accompanied by an odd floating object, is that the belief-battery in question? We’ll have to wait and see.
The main purpose of the video is actually to reveal the game’s PC features. It’ll support ray tracing and NVIDIA DLSS and will also be playable via GeForce NOW, the cloud streaming service. More on this partnership with Nvidia is promised to be revealed over Gamescom.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, meanwhile, has certainly been busy with reveals of late. Just a few weeks ago, we were introduced to the first of the game’s major baddies in Lady Hellbender. Last week, meanwhile, we were given an insight into the game’s music including the band from which Star-Lord takes his name.
