Though the NFL 2022 season is in the rearview mirror, Madden 23 Ultimate Team (MUT) has continued to produce some delightful new player drops, including some great releases from its very own Weekly Wildcards Program.
For those of you that might be unfamiliar with this MUT special, the Weekly Wildcards Program is a fun edition that celebrates different levels of NFL experience, standout seasonal performances, and degrees of strength that were highlighted throughout the 2022 season.

Each Weekly Wildcards Program release comes with usually 17 new players (including the Limited Edition (LTD) player), and this week’s drop was no different. The Week 5 Weekly Wildcards reveal took place today at 10:30AM ET / 3:30PM GMT on Good Morning Madden, with the in-game release going live shortly after in MUT at 11:10AM ET / 4:10PM GMT.
So without further ado, here’s a look at all the new players that have arrived with the Week 5 release of the Weekly Wildcards Program in Madden 23.
Madden 23: Weekly Wildcards Week 5 Players
As highlighted briefly in the intro, the Weekly Wildcards Program comes with four different player categories. Each of these categories represent a certain type of player. Here’s the different types:
- Heavyweight – A player who possess immense strength and fortitude for their position
- Rising Star – A promising young talent in the NFL that had a special 2022 season
- Standout – A player who had a standout performance over the 2022 season
- Veteran – A player who is a veteran to the game of football and the NFL
Every overall rating group of Weekly Wildcards, consists of a total of four players, one from each category and all of which were active over the 2022 NFL regular season.
With that being said, here’s all of the new players from the Weekly Wildcards Week 5 release in Madden 23 along with its new Limited Edition (LTD):

Madden 23: Weekly Wildcard Challenges
Accompanying the Weekly Wildcards Program, is a collection of challenges that grants fans the opportunity to unlock 87+ or 88+ Overall Account Bound (BND) Weekly Wildcards Fantasy Packs.
The fifth round of challenges (Week 5) contains a total of 16 stars, a max of four from each Weekly Wildcard Week 5 Champion. Once you complete every challenge from each Champion for their max four stars, you will be able to unlock the Week 5 88+ Overall BND Weekly Wildcards Fantasy Pack.
