Arrowhead Game Studios has confirmed the arrival of The Illuminate, the third enemy faction for Helldivers 2. After months of leaks, the psychic aliens are coming to the popular multiplayer game alongside new vehicles and sprawling urban cities to fight in.
Helldivers 2 Omens of Tyranny announced
Revealed at The Game Awards 2024, Helldivers 2 Omens of Tyranny doesn’t only bring the long-awaited third enemy faction to the game, but also vehicles, urban maps and much more. Confirmed alongside The Witcher 4 and other huge announcements, Helldivers fans are getting the update of their dreams.
“The sightings, rumors, conspiracy theories. They were all true. The ancient Illuminate civilization are back from extinction!” the trailer explained. “Defend new colonies! Confront new enemies! Take the wheel, or mounted gun, of your sweet FRV ride and charge into thrilling new levels of urban warfare on PS5 and PC.”
Helldivers 2’s Illuminate enemies will not only include the expected alien menace, but also hordes of zombified humans for players to take out. With new weapons, vehicles and more, this is the biggest update in the game’s history. Check out the trailer below:
Following months of leaks, this is the Helldivers update of every fan’s dreams. With new enemies, awesome new maps and much more to experience, this is the best announcement we could’ve expected for the game.
While The Illuminate’s arrival in Helldivers 2 does bring an end to the game’s biggest leaks, there are still more features still in development. For example, recent leaks discovered new planetary eclipse events that will thrust players into pitch black warzones as well as a new wildlife system to give planets more natural life.
