Is Zelda Tears of the Kingdom a DLC? With The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom now here, both casual and hardcore Nintendo fans can finally get their hands on the game. Most of the hype has been driven both by the success of Breath of the Wild, released in 2017on Nintendo Switch Wii U, and the intriguing trailers that have been released since.

The achievements of the opening entry is also apparently overshadowing the upcoming installment since fans are now asking the following question: is Zelda Tears of the Kingdom a DLC? Will The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom be a DLC?

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will not be a DLC and is instead a separate title from 2017’s Breath of the Wild. Trailers showing snippets of the upcoming follow-up have been released with all of them showing new powers, unique locations, and a horrifying antagonist.

It’s worth noting, though, that Breath of the Wild has already had two DLC’s released in the past, the first one being The Master Trials which was then followed by The Champions’ Ballad.

The former added multiple features to the first game, such as The Trial of the Sword, Master Mode, Hero’s Path Mode, the travel medallion and new armor. On the other hand, the latter added nine types of armor that could be found while treasure hunting as well as an ancient bridle and saddle.

With this in mind, Tears of the Kingdom DLC, several DLC packs or even DLC expansion are likely on the cards some point in the future. But since the full version of the game itself is yet to be released, players may have to wait a while before it’s eventually launched.
