For anyone wondering whether the Tears of the Kingdom Collector’s Edition is worth it, don’t worry, you’ve come to the right place.
Tears of the Kingdom is here and gamers are making sure they’re ready. Asking questions like what’s the best controller for Tears of the Kingdom or whether you can play Zelda on Switch Lite are all important to be fully prepared for the game. Included in that, of course, is which version of the game should you get? Tears of the Kingdom has two versions available. There is the standard version. There is also a Collector’s Edition, which comes with many special items. But is it worth it?
Let’s get into it.
Tears of the Kingdom
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Collector’s Edition
Is the Collector’s Edition Tears of the Kingdom worth it?
First off, you’ve go to look at what is included in the Collector’s Edition. The Tears of the Kingdom Collector’s Edition comes with these items:
- Art book
- ICONART poster
- Physical copy of the game
- Pin set
- Steelbook Case
Next, you’ve got to consider the price. The standard version clocks in at $69.99. Meanwhile, the Collector’s Edition comes in at a hefty $129.99. That’s almost double the price for the Collector’s Edition. This is in keeping with the sort of prices we were looking at for special editions with Breath of the Wild.
Breath of the Wild Master Edition retailed for $130. Included in that was a phyical copy of the game, a 24-song soundtrack CD, a Relic of Hyrule: Calamity Ganon tapestry and weather worn map, a Nintendo Switch Sheikah Slate carrying case, a Sheikah Eye collectible coin, and a Master Sword statue. There was also a Special Edition which retailed at $100 and came with the same features as the Master Edition minus the sword statue.
Compared to these editions, and baring in mind the increase in price we would normally expect, the Tears of the Kingdom Collector’s Edition actually seems pretty worth it, when compared against previous Collector’s editions in the Legend of Zelda series. At the end of the day, every person has their own budget constraints and priorities. If budget isn’t a problem for you here, though, we think you’ll get pretty good value for money with the Tears of the Kingdom Collector’s Edition.
We’re going to be keeping a close eye on this release and will update the site regularly as new information comes in, so make sure to check back in periodically in order to not miss anything.
