In just one more day we can all finally play the long-awaited Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The game has been anticipated for almost four years, and thankfully Square Enix has done a tremendous job in delivering a magnificent epic. The original FF7 Remake in 2020 was fairly lengthy, and here you will find an explanation of how long it will take to beat the story of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth plus all content.

The release date and time for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is set for February 29th. If you wish to play as soon as possible, we highly recommend beginning your preload now as the download size is huge. The review embargo ended a week before launch, and it currently sits at 92 on Metacritic which makes it one of the highest-rated PS5 console exclusives of all time.

While the FF7 Remake was magnificent in 2020, it was restricted to just the dystopian nightmare of Midgar. Now, in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, you will have a massive playground to explore full of lots of story missions as well as optional side activities and mini-games.

How long is Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth to beat?

It should take between 30-40 hours minimum to beat Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth if you purely just focus on the main story. Obviously, this will also depend on how efficient you are with the game in regard to mastering the difficulty and exploration. It also means rushing through the game so not spending any downtime to take in all the sights and beauty.

While beating the story alone is already a super long trek, it can take massively longer if you wish to complete everything the game has to offer. In a preview of the game from Game Informer, it was revealed that completing everything in FF7 Rebirth can take over 100 hours.

As for why it will take so long, it’s because the game is stuffed with optional side quests as well as mini-games. We know about the piano mini-game thanks to the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth demo, but other mini-games include dolphin racing, shooting galleries, battle square, frog leap, and G-Bike. There’s even more than just these mentioned, too.

The piano mini-game in the demo is highly addictive and it’s incredible to see all of the songs people have been able to replicate. We could easily see ourselves spending dozens of hours just at the piano as opposed to slashing enemies with Cloud’s iconic blade.

While 40 hours sounds daunting, let alone 100 hours, we’d recommend just taking in the game and exploring as much as you feel compelled. There’s no point rushing through it, and rushing through the game could dampen your experience as you’d miss out on lots of content.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth launches on February 29th for PS5. There is the likelihood that it will come to PC post-launch similar to the FF7 Remake. If you played the demo, make sure you’re aware of how to carry over your demo progress to the full game.

In other FF7 Rebirth news, you should know that this is the second installment in the remake trilogy. We have a list of all the trophies towards getting the lucrative platinum, and, if you buy a physical copy of the game, you will be greeted by two discs.
